The ROI of Unified Communications
A detailed Return On Investment (ROI) can be an effective tool when evaluating a technology project and its potential value to the organization. However, when the project under evaluation brings value in mostly intangible ways, the ROI can tend to overstate the value and generate potential risk. This isn't to say we can't create an ROI with a positive value for the investment; in fact this couldn't be further from the truth. Since UC is just this type of project it is better to analyze how the technology will change the way people work and what potential value the changes will bring.

Unified Communications
Government agencies have traditionally been decentralized. While this might have some benefit from an operational perspective there have been clear drawbacks from the decentralization. Ideally, this will enable communication from employees and groups to cross the divisional and agency chasms, increasing both the frequency and value of communications.
